17 Nov 2024
On Friday 15th November the Victorian Polo Association headed off to Equitana to showcase the sport of polo.
The Teams were: AAA Build comprising of Daniel Daher 0, Ed Goold 2, team captain Dean Fullerton 3 and Project Clothing comprising of Carlie Trotter 0, Sam Gairdner 3 and team captain Sam Stott 3.
We would like to thank our team sponsors:
AAA Build - AAA Build is Melbourne's premier bathroom design company, renowned for over 35 years of delivering exceptional and trustworthy service. Specialising in bathrooms, AAA Build offers an all in-one solution, combining expert interior design with comprehensive design and construction services.
Project Clothing - Project clothing is an Australian owned custom sports clothing company who specialises in performance fabrics and both male and female garments. Project is best known for dressing AFL umpires along with many other sporting teams.
Our VPA sponsored lady player Kelly Keyte kept everyone in check with her umpiring skills.
Ric McCarthy kept the crowd entertained and informed.
Previous member Aaron Mawhinney provided the goal posts an assisted with organisation on the day.
The players had their work cut out with the arena grass in need of a Trimax cut, but the players smashed our arena balls (kindly provided by Inge Burke) from end to end and put on a great show. Stunning ribbons were presented to our winners and runners up courtesy of Equitana. OTT provided a BBP rug for the event and this was awarded to Sam Stott on the gorgeous chesnut who was unnamed in her racing career. She was trained by Luke Oliver but didnt make it to the racetrack and is now flourishing in her polo career under the expert guidance of Sam.
The VPA has received many emails from people interested in coming to try and watch polo showing how beneficial these days are to the continuation of our sport. Thankyou to all involved who helped make this a success.
